health tutors offer a new formula “closer to students”

From now on, since the second semester of 2021, the health tutoring of the University of Limoges offers its help to students of the three paths of access to health studies and a support formula as close as possible to the students in this period of health crisis.

The support system offered by the health tutors of the University of Limoges is changing for the start of the second semester of 2021. It adapts to new avenues of access to entrance examinations for health studies and tries to get closer to students facing the isolation of distance learning. On the Limoges Health Tutoring Facebook account, we find the press release of their new system which emphasizes support “for all students”.

While the daily tutorials and MCQ sessions for exam preparation were done via YouTube in the first semester, now two- and third-year tutors help their peers in small groups in virtual classrooms.

We wanted to be as close as possible to the students. The sessions are more personalized to avoid dropping out.

A proximity and an essential link according to this student in the third year of medicine. “All the tutors feel that the students have more trouble getting started and follow the sessions less than face-to-face. We are trying to set up more things, online game evenings and bring about discussions”, he explains, indicating that the tutoring is working on a project with the faculty of Limoges to accentuate the psychological and moral support part in their action.

All avenues of access to relevant health studies

And if the educational and psychological support component is evolving, health tutoring is expanding to offer its offer to all new avenues of access to health studies (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, midwifery / midwifery, occupational therapy and physiotherapy) .

Since the start of the 2020 school year, access to health studies is provided through three different courses at the University of Limoges : the PACES (first year common to health studies) – this is the last year that this path exists, the PASS, specific health access path – a license to major health – and the license to health access – to minor health .

A new tutoring formula thus allowing as many people as possible to prepare for competitions.
