“Health is a Right and Dignity” Campaign Head Urges Citizen Action to Protect Health Rights

The head of the “Health is Right and Dignity” campaign, Dr. Ismail Sukkarieh, at the invitation of the Social and Cultural Council of Western Bekaa and Rashaya, delivered a lecture in President Khaled Shraneq’s hall in the municipality of Jib Jenin, entitled “Your health…a wasted right”, in the presence of Representative Ghassan Skaf and a group of heads of municipalities and cultural clubs. educators and professionals.

The lecturer presented the head of the medical committee in the parliament, Dr. Sami Rishoni, who lived Dr. Sukkariyeh’s 26-year-old experience inside and outside Parliament in defense of the citizen’s right to health.

Sukkariyeh explained the goal of choosing the title, and that “it is to incite the citizen to defend his right and dignity in the face of those who stole the country and its people with accountability and accountability liberated from political calculations, compromise and hypocrisy, because what was committed against his health is the crime of the age, and because any solutions that we will propose will not be applied in light of this responsible chaos.” Which brought us to collapse.

Sukkarieh reviewed the history of market consumer health policies that permitted the health sector, quotas and politicization, like other sectors, recording the highest percentage in all pillars of the sector, medicine, hospitalization, medicine, medical technology, laboratories, and unjustified medical work, especially open-heart surgery, with a corruption rate of no less than fifty percent of the health bill. And a sharing relationship with the cantons of the guarantor institutions that are politically and sectarianly bound, and absolute delivery to drug importers by imposing the basics of drug policy, pricing, quality and availability.
He said: “The Ministry of Health has moved away from its caretaking, preventive and educational role and delivered many medicines and health care centers to politically affiliated associations, and finally committed some of its dispensaries to a political association for a period of 25 years, despite continuing to pay all expenses and salaries. The economic collapse took years and years, and its effects hit all the pillars of the health sector, especially hospitals and medicine, which turned the patient into nightmares.

Sukkariyeh stressed that “the Ministry of Health did not carry out its duties, but rather turned into an echo of the effects of the collapse and waiting for what the governor of the Central Bank would be generous with, as the Arab honors.” He called for “activating the central laboratory, especially with the outbreak of the black market and smuggling of suspicious drugs, activating the National Drug Office, adopting a basic drug list, re-pricing and relative support for cancer drugs.” Millions of dollars outside its walls and liquefying it on the ground in the community for awareness and prevention.

He concluded, calling on “every free and honorable person to morally support the health campaign, right and dignity, whether by affiliation or endorsement, the campaign that placed health above any consideration and affirmed its credibility with stances, sacrifices and prices, the campaign that placed health with its science, laws and humanity above any consideration and affirmed its credibility over 26 years of challenges, sacrifices and costs.” exorbitant.”
