Health incorporates affidavit to unblock bureaucracy in adolescent vaccination

Dr. Héctor Castro, director of the PAI, said this Tuesday in communication with radio Monumental 1080 AM that the family book and the birth certificate were already required procedures in the vaccination of adolescents with underlying diseases against Covid-19.

However, this requirement upset several parents on Monday, on the first vaccination day of the general population aged 16 to 17 years. Many of the complaints were due to the health portfolio not reporting the requirements in time.

Castro explained in this regard that they are necessary procedures because the anti-Covid doses are not part of the regular vaccination program, so it is ensured that the parent or guardian is the one who authorizes, he mentioned.

On this point he stated that the Ministry of Health now incorporated in the vaccinations the presentation of an affidavit to “save the situation.”

“The adult has to sign an affidavit, a form that must be provided in all health regions,” he indicated.

At another time, he also mentioned that public defenders will accompany the vaccination posts to unblock the legal obstacles that adults in charge of adolescents other than their children may present.

All adolescents of the corresponding age will be able to receive the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine until Friday, whether or not they have underlying pathology and the termination of the identification number will not be taken into account.

Héctor Castro said that 15,000 people from this group were vaccinated on the first day of vaccination. He said that the population of 16 to 17 years is being vaccinated more than the moment in which it was the turn of the 18 and 19 years.
