In the future, the Oculus data could also be available in Apple Health using the HealthKit
According to Steve Moser, a code in the Oculus app indicates the link
Oculus VR is a subsidiary of Facebook that focuses on the development of VR / AR glasses. The latest model is Quest 2, previously the Quest and Rift S models were sold. The health app Oculus Move was launched at the end of 2020: Oculus Move analyzes the health data of its users not only during exercise, but also while playing VR / AR games or using other applications.
Oculus Move data may also be available in Apple Health soon
Movements and calorie burn are tracked, which – according to Oculus – should help users to keep an eye on their health even during (supposedly) quiet activities such as playing a game.
So far, users have been able to access their data on a special dashboard in the library. Now Facebook is supposed to work on linking Apple’s health app Apple Health with Oculus Move via HealthKit. This means that the Oculus data can also be called up on Apple devices. This was reported by the information platform Bloomberg at the end of July.
Apparently a code indicates Facebook’s plans
This information would come from Steve Moser, who writes for MacRumors, and himself iOSApplications developed. He discovered a code in the Oculus app that indicated that a link between the two health apps was being tested – so it is not yet certain whether Apple Health will actually receive data from Oculus Move anytime soon. Moser indirectly confirms on Twitter that he is the discoverer of the code:
Not only is Facebook investing in AR/VR ( https://t.co/0bBFNSJ7KQ ) but they are also investing in health tech. https://t.co/mzOurZlJ4L
