The health and well-being of staff is a priority
The health and well-being program of Avizo Experts-Conseils allows the company specializing in environmental consulting, engineering and construction to have a real impact on individual and organizational health.
“There were already several initiatives in place, including the Shared Garden, the DEK hockey team and the Happy Hour. The Healthy Enterprise recognition helps us understand the impact of our interventions in health and well-being and continue to improve, ”according to Émeline Pillon, health and wellness program manager at Avizo Experts-Conseils.

The Healthy Enterprises Group offers an approach to improving health and wellness programs which is being deployed in stages:

Health and wellness interventions are popular at Avizo Experts-Conseils
For years a team of DEK hockey formed by several employees of Avizo Experts-Conseils evolves in a recreational league. In addition to improving the health of participants, this sporting activity increases group cohesion.
In the fall of 2019, the Nutrition and fitness challenge provided access for around 30 employees to a nutrition specialist and a private trainer. In addition to covering the registration fees for the activity, Avizo Experts-Conseils gave participants gift certificates and rewards to motivate them to go through with the challenge.
In spring 2020, the management of Avizo Experts-Conseils launched the idea of Shared garden at the Sherbrooke office. The vegetable garden was designed, built, maintained and harvested by a dozen passionate employees between May and October 2020. The people involved learned the basics of vegetable gardening and shared good times as a team outside of the usual professional framework. The company paid for the facilities and the staff helped purchase plants and seeds.

With the support of Miellerie de l’Estrie, selected employees had the chance to take care of both honey bee hives of Avizo Experts-Conseils. All staff were offered a small jar of honey produced by our hobbyist beekeepers.

The active transportation is favored by the presence of bike paths, bike racks, changing rooms and showers at almost all of the Quebec offices of Avizo Experts-Conseils.
In 2019, the premises of Avizo Experts-Conseils’ head office in Sherbrooke were renovated to offer all staff a functional and comfortable work environment. There is a staff lounge and a fully equipped cafeteria. The Catherine-Lussier lounge, named in honor of a former employee who died in 2018, is the ideal place to meet colleagues during a 5 to 7 for example.
Several training machines have been added to the training room from the Sherbrooke office. Staff members assigned to an office that is not equipped with this type of equipment receive a contribution of $ 50 for a gym membership or for the purchase of training equipment.
A pleasant and stimulating work environment
Thanks to the commitment of management, the involvement of staff and the health program manager, it is likely that the health and wellness program will remain a key factor in improving the environment of work at Avizo Experts-Conseils.
