Head of West Java BPK removed after KPK OTT related to bribery of Regent Ade Yasin

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (CPC) RI removed the Head of the West Java Representative Office after a number of auditors were arrested by KPK related to the alleged corruption case of accepting bribes from the Bogor Regent Ade Yasin |.

“We have deactivated the Head of the West Java Province BPK Representative as well as several staff who are the examining team for this related case,” said BPK RI Chairman Isma Yatun at a press conference at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, Thursday (28/4).

Isma explained that his party would process all employees suspected of being involved in the corruption case.

According to him, BPK has an internal sanction mechanism through the Code of Ethics Honorary Council. The process will later carry out an examination of the enforcement of the employee code of ethics.

“Creating the BPK as an independent and self -sufficient state institution in accordance with the trust of Law 1945 Article 23 paragraph 3,” he said.

He considered the case to be a hard blow for the BPK institution as part of a government institution that also has a role in eradicating corruption.

Therefore, Isma stated that he would support law enforcement efforts carried out by the KPK against a number of its members.

“We are very concerned about recent events involving BPK RI employees. This is a heavy blow for BPK,” he said.

For information, there are four members of the BPK representing West Java who became suspects after receiving bribes from Ade Yasin to give the Bogor Regency Government an Unqualified Predicate (WTP).

The four suspects are the Head of the West Java III Auditorate Sub/Technical Controller for the West Java Representative BPK, Anthon Merdiansyah; Team Leader
Bogor Regency Interim Audit, Arko Mulawan; and two examiners at the West Java Representative BPK, Hendra Nur Rahmatullah Karwita and Gerri Ginajar Trie Rahmatullah.

They are fully assigned to audit various project implementations, including the Bogor Regency PUPR Office.

In addition, investigators also identified several of Ade Yasin’s subordinates, namely the Head of the Regional Treasury for the Bogor Regency BPKAD, Ihsan Ayatullah (IA) and the Secretary of the Bogor Regency PUPR Service, Maulana Adam (MA) as the party giving the bribe.
