Sukana was transferred directly from his position as Head of KUA Tanah Abang by Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi. Sukana is currently being transferred as a leader in the Central Jakarta area.
“Starting today, Sukana no longer has the mandate of additional duties as the head of the KUA. Sukana has been transferred to the head of the Ministry of Religion in Central Jakarta,” said the Director General of Islamic Community Guidance, Kemenag, Kamaruddin Amin, in a written statement, Monday (23/11/2020).
“This decision is in line with the commitment of Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi that the big family of the Ministry of Religion must be strict in implementing health protocols in order to avoid the transmission of COVID-19 in providing services,” he added.
Sukana’s removal was carried out after the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Religion conducted an investigation process. The results of the investigation turned out that Sukana was considered to have ignored health protocols while carrying out duties at the marriage contract ceremony for Habib Rizieq’s daughter, Najwa Syihab.
“The head of KUA Tanah Abang is considered to have ignored provisions related to health protocols when carrying out the task of recording the marriage of Muhamad Irfan and Najwa Syihab in Petamburan, November 14, 2020,” he said.
