He wanted to challenge his parents and didn’t wash his hair for eight years

Paige Gozon, 16, used TikTok to share that he hasn’t washed his hair in eight years and the revelation was so surprising that the video quickly went viral, surpassing seven million views on the social network.

The young woman, born in North Carolina, in the United States, said that she stopped washing her hair in 2012, all because she wanted to challenge her parents.

“It started as a challenge against my parents, They made me wash my hair every night and, I was a naive eight year old child who saw it as any other annoying task that I didn’t want to do”, he told in an interview with the magazine Allure.

“After a few weeks without washing, it basically turned into a game to see how long it could last,” he recalled, admitting that a year later he declared that that was his “lifestyle” and that he only used dry products to treat oiliness of the hair.

About the video that went viral on TikTok, the young woman admits that she ended up receiving many negative comments.

“I read a lot of comments and messages about how I probably had lice and how I should smell – people assume I’m repulsive, really,” he said, saying he doesn’t understand why they take that position.

Paige admits that her hair grew faster and that she had no “damaged ends”. However, she confesses that she had to change the bedding several times.

Now, eight years later, the young woman has finally decided to wash her hair, all because she is going to change schools.

“Since I am changing my life, it is also best to change my hair”, he concluded.
