The father of the 3-year-old boy was buying drugs with counterfeit money when the scam was discovered and the Philadelphia shooting began.
The small Yaseem Jenkins, age three was ruthlessly used as “human shield for his father in the middle of a drug trade gone wrong in Philadelphia, United States.
The tax authorities detailed that the minor was shot in the head and other parts of the body during the encounter, after his father Nafes Monroe, will try buy drugs using fake money.
During the friction, the minor was seriously injured and lost his life, the puzzling case was recorded in 2019; however, authorities have been unable to determine a conviction for the parties involved.
Larry Krasner, District Attorney of Philadelphia, detailed that the minor had received bullet wounds in the head, neck and buttocks.
Yaseem Jenkins had been placed in the back seat of his father’s car during the transaction. During the interrogations, the father confessed that he had taken him with him thinking that he would not be attacked during the transaction with counterfeit money.

The investigation of the case
“Our investigation leads us to believe that he intentionally had the child with him when he was making those types of purchases with the idea or belief that if someone saw that he had a child in the car, they would not be shot.”said the chief prosecutor of the homicide unit, Anthony Voci.
“A human shield is probably the term I would use.”added Voci when interviewed by The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Francisco Ortiz, 29, is the attacker who started shooting at Monroe’s vehicle and the bullets hit the minor.
Ortiz is currently detained and awaiting the resolution of the case that could be classified as a homicide as a direct result of the injuries caused.
