ROMA – He stabbed his wife and then attempted to kill himself with the same weapon, but failed. Yet another femicide took place in Corfinio, in the province of L’Aquila, where the woman – Maria Pia Reale, 68 years old – she was known and respected by everyone and where she had been a teacher for years. The murderer, Enrico Marrama, 70 years old, had returned home yesterday after a period of stay in the San Salvatore dell’Aquila hospital.
In the evening a dispute would break out between the two, then continued also this morning, then the man attacked his wife and killed her. Immediately afterwards Marrama attempted to commit suicide by sticking the knife in his chest. The man who was rescued was transported to the hospital in Sulmona where he is guarded by the carabinieri who are reconstructing the dynamics of the murder. During the lockdown the man had left home for some time and was then found in a state of confusion, near the highway, closed in his car.
