‘He is older than Israel’; An elderly Palestinian woman who won the hearts of the people was shot dead

Gaza: Israel shoots dead old woman who went viral on the internet saying she was older than Israel. This was reported by Al Arabiya, citing a local photographer. Hadiya Nasser was born in 1944, four years before the ‘Nakba’, the Arabic term for the catastrophe that led to the creation of Israel and the mass displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. Hadiya appeared earlier in a video posted by Palestinian journalist Salih Aljafrawi, who visited her in the hospital after being injured in an airstrike in Israel. After the video went viral, she captured the hearts of hundreds of people.

In the video, Hadiya confirmed that she was born before the creation of Israel while Aljafrawi was looking at official records. The video shows young Aljafravi playfully flirting and both laughing. After recovering from his injuries, he left the hospital and returned home, defying the move to forcibly evacuate the elderly from the area. Hadiya was shot dead outside the front door of the house.
