For the first time in its history, HC Ajoie wins the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup, after a match against the Graubünden of HC Davos which the most diverse observers have not failed to describe as “top in color ”, gasping, even“ not recommended for the heart sick ”.

The Jurassic team won, at the Vaudoise aréna de Lausanne, with a score of 7 to 3, the Davidian side having flopped in the last ten minutes of play. It then felt like time was accelerating suddenly, the HC Ajoie scoring his fifth, sixth and seventh goals in less time than it takes to connect Courchavon to Courtemaîche with an open grave on a fine freezing night. Perhaps the eyes were already turning towards Porrentruy, whose municipal authorities had promised an open night in the event of victory. So this is the case.

Sausages and fries
The trade press has counted down: HC Ajoie thus becomes the first French-speaking team after Genève-Servette (1959, 1972) and Neuchâtel Young Sprinters (1957, 1958 and 1963) to win the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup.
Was it a harbinger? The refreshment bar at the Vaudoise arena, according to several sources, had put Ajoie sausages on the menu (with fries or not). According to the count made by the RTS, the Jura supporters were at least 8000 to have made the trip to Malley (we can put 9000 spectators there) to attend the match. Which still makes a good tenth of the cantonal population. Not sure that all the stomachs could have been filled to the full.
