The capsule of the asteroid explorer “Hayabusa2” that returned to Earth was opened, and it was found that the “sand” of the asteroid “Ryugu” was inside.

The capsule of “Hayabusa2” that returned to the earth on December 6 was being opened at the facility of JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa, but on the 14th, JAXA had black sand granules. It was confirmed that the substance of was contained.

This sample is considered to be Ryugu sand, and JAXA will investigate the inside further and conduct a detailed analysis.
