Have you installed the watchOS 7 public beta?

For the first time in the history of the Apple Watch, Apple is offering anyone who wants to take the plaster to test a major version of watchOS – in this case, watchOS 7. The first public beta was delivered on August 10, the second this week. If you have a watch ready to sacrifice that is dragging on watchOS 6 and that you are dying to try the new features of the future version, then it’s a good time (you need a Series 3, 4 or 5).

If logic is followed, this second public beta corresponds to the fifth beta for developers, which means that VoiceOver has been reinstated in these two versions. A precision of importance for all users who need this accessibility feature. To install watchOS 7, the iPhone must be under iOS 14, also available in public beta.

Another more annoying constraint of watchOS 7, once the public beta is installed, the watch can no longer switch back to watchOS 6. And even if Apple Store support conditions have been relaxed for devices running on a public beta, your broken Apple Watch may not benefit: the technicians in the store do not have the tools and from what we have been told, they are not allowed to use them send to depot. That being said, you should know that installing the public beta does not void the hardware warranty.
