Lecture by Prof. Dr. Tobias-Benedikt Blask on digitization in marketing

(socialon) On Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., people of all ages interested in education are invited to the AudiMax (“Paper Factory”, Building 9, Am Eichberg 1 in Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains) on the Wernigerode campus invited to the new event of the Intergenerational University. Prof. Dr. Tobias-Benedikt Blask from the Harz University of Applied Sciences will speak on the topic of “Digitization in Marketing – Scientific Contributions, Basic Mechanisms and Practical Implications for Advertisers”. Participation is free of charge. Prior registration via the website of Harz University necessary.

Tobias-Benedikt Blask has been working at the Faculty of Economics since the winter semester 2021/22. The 43-year-old followed the call for a professorship with a focus on marketing management and digitization. In his inaugural lecture, he explains the major changes in marketing that have taken place over the past two decades as a result of digitization. The speaker explains that consumer behavior has also changed substantially.

But what is causing this and what are the underlying trends that have contributed to it? The specific contribution that science has made to digital transformation in marketing will also be discussed using a few examples at the Intergenerational University.

Blask has always had a passion for performance marketing and digitization. In 2007 he completed his studies in economics and social sciences at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg, initially went into business for himself and founded, among other things, the marketing technology company Adference. He did his doctorate at the Institute for Business Informatics of his alma mater on the subject: “Automation of decision-making in digital marketing using artificial intelligence” and before his appointment to the Harz University of Applied Sciences held a professorship for digital marketing at the Media University in Stuttgart.
