Harry & Meghan’s return to UK seems definitely out of the question: “Princess Eugenie now lives in their house” | Royalty

RoyaltyThe chance that Prince Harry (36) and Meghan Markle (39) will ever return to the UK permanently is very small. The couple, who now live in California, had their British home Frogmore Cottage emptied in the middle of the night, according to The Sun newspaper. On Friday, the pregnant Princess Eugenie (30) and her husband would have moved in.

According to an insider, Harry and Meghan are sending a strong signal that they do not intend to ever live in the United Kingdom again. “They have all their furniture flown over to their California residence. A moving service came to empty everything in the middle of the night. It appears they intend to stay in the United States permanently. ”

After that, the keys to Frogmore Cottage were handed over to Princess Eugenie, according to the same source. The pregnant daughter of Prince Andrew (60) and Sarah Ferguson (61) would from now on live there with her husband Jack Brooksbank (34). “The two are very happy in their new home”, it still sounds.

“They remain welcome”

Frogmore Cottage has been the subject of much debate in Britain in recent years. Harry and Meghan had the residence renovated for an amount of almost 2.7 million euros, money that came through the taxpayer. After their departure to California and the deposit of their royal titles, the couple therefore paid out of pocket the renovations back.

Harry & Meghan received Frogmore Cottage as a wedding gift in 2018. It will remain their residence when they visit the UK. “Then they will share the house with Eugenie. With five bedrooms, there is enough space, ”says the source in The Sun. It is not clear whether Eugenie and her husband have to pay rent. In any case, the couple remains financially responsible for the place of residence. “Frogmore Cottage will remain the private residence of Harry and Meghan, so it has to be arranged through them,” Buckingham Palace said.
