Harry and Meghan want royal christening for Lilibet: “In Windsor, in front of the Queen” | showbiz

RoyaltyAlthough they left the monarchy and even moved to the other side of the world, Prince Harry and Meghan do want a royal christening for their daughter Lilibet. That’s what insiders say to the British newspapers. “They want a big event, in front of the Queen.”

“Harry has already told several people that he wants to have Lilibet baptized in Windsor,” an insider told the Daily Mail. According to the newspaper, it is a ‘royal well’ that is very close to Harry. “He wants her to have the same baptism as Archie, but in front of the Queen. Because it wasn’t there when their first child was baptized. They are willing to wait until the circumstances allow such a large party.” For Meghan, that would be her first trip to London since she announced the Megxit a year and a half ago.

Baptisms in Windsor’s St George’s Chapel are reserved for the most important members of the royal family. When Queen Elizabeth is present, they actually become even more important. It is therefore striking that Harry would choose such a royal feast after his exodus. He accused his family of racism, discrimination and refusing to help when Meghan had mental problems. According to insiders, he has little contact with most members of his family.

The couple says they have trouble with the fact that their children do not get a title. For example, they told Oprah Winfrey that the royals had ensured that Archie did not receive the title of prince, even though he was entitled to it. This turned out to be incorrect, however, because only the children and grandchildren of the current monarch are entitled to that title. Archie and Lilibet are therefore automatically excluded, until Harry’s father Charles comes to power.

Striking: Lilibet has not yet officially been awarded the 8th place in the succession to the throne. According to sources within the palace, that would only happen after her baptism. She pushes Prince Andrew, Harry’s uncle, to 9th in line.

A royal baptism would strengthen the couple’s position as members of the royal family. This is important for their brand, as the Queen does not allow them to use the word ‘royal’ to make money.
