Harrie Jekkers writes new performance for culture palace The Hague | NOW

Comedian Harrie Jekkers will write a new cabaret performance on the occasion of the opening of the new culture palace Amare in The Hague. The show should be played in 2021, Jekkers said in Saturday Summer nails on NPO Radio 2.

The 69-year-old Jekkers does not do this alone, he works with his permanent artistic partner Koos Meinderts. Although the Hague comedian mainly comes to the fore, he and Meinderts have been writing songs, texts, books and conferences together for almost half a century. Jekkers does not want to say anything about the content of the new performance.

In the course of 2021, the new The Hague culture palace Amare should open its doors. Not only will it host the Residentie Orkest, but also the Nederlands Danstheater and the Royal Conservatoire.

In 2018 Jekkers was back on stage for the first time in 23 years with a solo cabaret show; Behind the dunes. When the corona crisis broke out in mid-March, he had to stop his weekly performances in the Koninklijke Schouwburg in The Hague. De Hagenaar hopes to start again soon.
