Considering the potential transmission of rabies, pet owners are advised to exercise extra caution when taking their furry friends for a stroll in the neighborhood. Although rabies exposure cannot be confirmed in these cases, the Harford County Health Department strongly advises seeking medical attention if a pet comes into contact with wildlife. Rabies vaccination clinics for pets are available in April and May, offering low-cost options for owners who register in advance.

The Harford County Health Department highlights the relevance of these incidents, as they pose a potential threat to anyone in the close-knit community, especially with a nearby school. To further ensure residents’ safety, maintaining control over pets becomes a key precaution. Cats and ferrets should be kept indoors, while dogs should be supervised closely.

If anyone witnesses or encounters the aggressive fox or foxes, it is crucial to report the incident to the Harford County Health Department.
