Hard taste test: Mälzer costs raw blood on TV! – Tv

This time kitchen caper Tim Mälzer has to prove a strong stomach at “Kitchen Impossible”: A dish has to be prepared with pig’s blood.

Germany’s best-known TV chef Tim Mälzer (50) and the Salzburg award-winning chef Josef “Sepp” Schellhorn (53) meet in the new edition of “Kitchen Impossible”. But not for the first time, because three years ago the two of them had a culinary showdown at a special edition of the cooking show. And this time too, the stove duel promises to push the two top chefs to their limits.

Schellhorn sends maltsters to Upper Austria

Above all, Mälzer’s nerves and ego are likely to be quite ailing after the past episodes, because the spirited kitchen capazunder already lost out with his last competitors Ludwig Maurer (40), Daniel Gottschlich (38) and Alexander Wulf (38). In the new episode, restaurateur and politician Schellhorn sends Mälzer not only to the city of Mozart, but also to Upper Austria, where the hamburger has to cook a traditional family dish from “Mühltalhof” boss Philip Rachinger (32).

TV chef is disgusted with a taste test

Mälzer can only rely on the help of his keen sense of taste for the preparation, but this presents him with a particularly bloody challenge. Raw pork blood is necessary for the unmistakable note in the requested dish. The otherwise resolute maltster gets weak knees at the very idea of having to use this ingredient. “Although I’m a passionate cook, there are certain things I don’t have to have,” he admits in front of the camera. In the case of pig blood, he even “learned a lot of things why you shouldn’t do that”.

He would also like to do without the subsequent seasoning. Only with extreme effort does he taste the bloody mass and only keep the spoon in his mouth for a fraction of a second. A moment that the opponent Schellhorn especially savored: “Everything was captured live,” he remembers the filming that took place last summer. “Part of it is that cooks sometimes fail.”
