This is not just any congratulations, it is certainly special. There is no pat on the shoulder here, no flattery; of course not. In these times of anxiety and exhaustion, of increasingly complex problems, due to lack of understanding between humans, it is not uncommon that we have resigned ourselves to living in constant risk.
A legal professional said: “In a world full of tricks, traps, false appearances, corruption, vested interests; A person who does not know how to live in those environments, who does not understand that world, who does not know what rights they have, how to react to certain situations or simply who to turn to for help, assumes a great risk”.
It is then the professional lawyer increasingly necessary, because, as the following maxim says: “Without lawyers there are no laws, without laws there is no law, without law there is no justice, without justice there is nothing”. The lawyer has a broader vision of the world, sees reasons that are not inscribed in any text, is a decipherer of hidden codes, an interpreter, a thinker who generates ideas, who studies the laws and events to arrive at the truth and the Justice.
From personal experience, I am aware that the special situations of yesterday are common today. As a person of good, I have been horrified to feel the violation of rights, arbitrariness and abuse of power, the use of the law to discriminate, run over and condemn the other, the most helpless, to precariousness, generating injustice. And I can say that we live in a world full of ambivalence and consequences, which is reproduced indefinitely and has not been fully elucidated.
In these instances, the lawyer is hope, called to work ethically to help reconcile society with justice, it is the human sense that deciphers reality, goes in search of reasons, of evidence that allows demonstrating that truth, and fights for a fairer society, where human dignity is respected.
But, the lawyer can walk down dark paths, in which the unjust is easily confused with the just, where committing a crime or inciting the fraudulent could be seen as an act of justice. In a country without great opportunities, fair people are opposed by everything, while the most cunning enjoy, with the use of influences and tricks, in an increasingly unequal society.
Certainly, fair lawyers, practitioners of ethics, with humanism, with values, who, for nothing in the world, defraud the trust of society, are essential. Conscientious lawyers, who do not carry out personal revenge, who do not allow themselves to be manipulated, who fight for the truth. For the lawyers who take on the challenge, happy day.
