This option is probably obsolete for short voice messages. However, if such a message is several minutes long, changing the speed can be very useful.
First, open the chat with the person who sent you a voice message.
Tap the play icon to start playback of the voice message.
On the right side you will see “1x” superimposed. If you tap on it, you can choose between 1x, 1.5x and 2x playback speed.
