Handling case killed ex-military Marcel (49) postponed | Inland

Hoogerbrugge was found poisoned and beaten on the head after he was found dead in his home. The case was to be heard on Thursday, but the long-awaited hearing now turned pro forma. Justice ‘regrets the delay’. The defense is angry and wanted to release the Sudanese suspect who was born in denial.

Investigators recently received fifteen new telephone numbers and mailbox information for both suspect and victim. This internet data came over from Ireland. It took a long time before the requested information on a memory stick arrived in the Netherlands and could be fully opened. New are emails from victim Hoogerbrugge. It is actually a modest addition to the up to 150 pages of calling data that had already been collected.

Although there appears to be a lot of ‘spam’ and advertising in the opened mailbox, the judiciary hopes that a better picture will arise. Among other things, four emails from December 2017 could now be read.

E.’s lawyer Ronald Knegt from Assen received information until just before the hearing. He said it was too late for the case to go ahead on Thursday. The counsel is rather unhappy with it: “The investigation is over, everything is inside, it seemed. It seems that the Public Prosecution Service is doing everything to keep the client longer. ” However, the court again ruled that the suspect remains detained, partly because of flight risk.

Knegt: „How long will this take? And how long will the client remain in prison? She has been detained for two years and there is no prospect of completion of the file! ”

The Assen court has asked the judiciary to finish processing the latest information in a month. The Ministry of Justice also believes that the suspect herself has also delayed the case earlier, for example by returning to the Netherlands for a longer period of time after her arrest.
