Four days after the Hamas attack on Israel, many families are still in uncertainty across the Atlantic. American citizens are among the Hamas hostages, assured Joe Biden, the President of the United States, Tuesday October 10. They are mainly dual nationals and their number may still change. Washington remains without news of “20 nationals, or even more” added Jake Sullivan, presidential national security adviser, on Tuesday, specifying that this did not mean that all these people were hostages.

Relatives of missing people speak out in the American media to try to find them. Among them, Miral Ali and David Abramoff have no news of their 20-year-old son, Lahore Itsak. He participated in the rave party on Saturday evening near the border with the Gaza Strip. They have been looking for him ever since, as they tell it on CNN, from their Israeli home, between Haifa and Tel Aviv: “We called, texted, emailed, posted photos on social media and asked everyone we know to help us and all other parents find our children.”says the mother.

They also provided their son’s DNA and their own to identify him and traveled almost wherever possible: “in the hospital with the injured, in the morgue”details the father, David Abramoff. “He’s not on the kidnapped list, he laments. It’s hard, very very hard.”. The couple have Israeli and American nationalities and hope that their interventions in the American media will help them find their son.
