343 Industries and Microsoft have published a statement in which they have made official that Halo Infinite not be one of the Xbox Series X launch games since I finally know delay and will not go on sale in Spain or the rest of the world until the year 2021 with a final date yet to be specified by the study.
The announcement has been made via a Twitter statement in which Chris Lee, head of the studio behind Halo Infinite, addresses fans of the Xbox brand and the saga, commenting that they had to “take her difficult decision to move our launch to 2021 to ensure that the team has adequate time to develop the Halo gaming experience that matches our vision“.
“The decision to postpone the launch is the result of multiple factors that have contributed to development challenges, including the current impacts of COVID that are affecting us all this year“continues the statement.”I want to acknowledge the hard work of our 343 Industries team, who have remained committed to making a great game and finding solutions to development challenges. However, it is not sustainable for the well-being of our team or for the overall success of the game to launch it this Christmas“.
To end the statement, Chris acknowledges that “may be disappointing for many of you“to continue ensuring that”the passion and support the community has shown over the years has been amazing and inspiring. We want nothing more than to play our game with the community this Christmas. The extra time will allow us to finish critical work necessary to develop the most ambitious Halo game at the quality we know fans expect. Thanks for your support and understanding.“.

Xbox Series X, confirmed for November
In another vein, along with the announcement of the delay to 2021 of Halo Infinite, Microsoft has issued a parallel statement to confirm that Xbox Series X to launch next November accompanied by more than 50 new games planned for this year plus 100 titles that have been optimized for Xbox Series X.
