The announcement of postponement of the outing of Halo Infinite had the effect of a bomb as well on the community Halo only from the community Xbox in general. Very quickly, the leaders of 343 Industries and of Microsoft had no choice but to defend their decision to the fans. In light of these statements, it emerges that the decision to postpone the launch date to 2021 was only one of the solutions considered by the studio and the publisher!
If it is now clear that Halo Infinite will not be part of the launch line-up of the Xbox Series X, the Redmond company seems to have long considered that the game is released in several parts, each with an independent launch date. This rumor had already circulated and was denied at the time of the Xbox Games Showcase when the journalist Brad Sams had declared that Multiplayer and Campaign wouldn’t be released at the same time. To believe Phil Spencer during his intervention during a broadcast of the Animal Talking Show, this option was not chosen by the decision makers on the grounds that this type of release was not in line with what the developers and the fans wanted:
“It just didn’t feel, to all of us, like the Halo release that we would want”
“It didn’t look like what any of us wanted for the Halo release”
In this same interview, the president of the Gaming branch of Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox Series X sort and November despite the delay of the flagship game in its line-up. As a reminder, although the campaign and the multiplayer will not be distributed separately, 343 Industries had announced a few weeks ago that the latter will be free and will run at 120 fps on the next console Xbox. This delay could also allow 343 Industries to review its schedule of public flight tests, including the future was more than uncertain a few weeks ago.
