The city of Halle (Saale) may have already disregarded the federal vaccination ordinance. This time it is about the employees of the General Social Service (ASD) of the city administration.
Daniela Stech from Caritas was amazed in the youth welfare committee. One of her employees had an appointment at the youth welfare office and was informed that the employees were currently being vaccinated. On what basis, she wanted to know. But Alexander Froloff, Head of Education in the city administration, could only say that the Federal Vaccination Ordinance was being adhered to.
And Gaby Heine from the DRK is also amazed. “On what basis was this determination / selection made, since it represents unequal treatment between social workers in the Department of Education and the independent organizations”, she asks the city administration on behalf of all independent organizations in Halle.
Social workers have also got in touch. They are on the “frontline” every day and have not yet received a vaccination, and city workers who visit facilities perhaps twice a year have been vaccinated.
The city, however, defends this approach. 21 employees received the vaccination, which is also regularly used to meet child protection requirements in children’s facilities and schools. And she pushes the buck to the Free Porters. They are responsible for arranging vaccination appointments for their employees.
