The French do not take the second national quarantine as seriously as the first, which was in force in March and April, according to a survey by the Ifop research center.

More than 60% of respondents have violated the rules at least once, either by giving false reasons to leave home or by meeting family and friends.

This percentage is higher than in the first phase of quarantine, when the proportion of offenders did not exceed 40% in the first six weeks.

The most common violation (24% of respondents) was the indication of false reasons on the permit document, which all citizens must download and complete before leaving home.

Others have accepted family members or visited family (24%) or met friends (20%).

9% admit that they went to meet a sexual partner, which is three percentage points more than during the first quarantine.

28% admit that they feel sad. In comparison, in the first quarantine it was 20%.

In France, the second quarantine regime is effective from 30 October.
