Haddad breaks record for most corruption cases

Indeed, Ali Haddad broke the record for the greatest number of corruption cases linked to the agreements granted to his own public works company “ETRHB”, estimated at 124 project agreements. The latter also benefited from 452 bank loans with a financial value of more than 2.100 billion dinars, which were used to finance the construction of infrastructure, such as a highway, the entrance to the international airport, railway and tram projects, as well as other fraudulent projects.

The last file opened by the third chamber of the financial and economic pole concerned the former president of the FCE concerned with the award of the contract for the construction of a section of the east-west motorway. It is this same affair that led the former ministers of transport and public works Amar Ghoul and Boujma Talai in addition to the former directors of public works “KH” and “PM” and the director general of the Algerian Road Works Company, named “BS”, in addition to 12 other defendants, in prison.

The accusations which weigh on Haddad and his collaborators range from “the abuse of office and of power” to “the granting and obtaining of undue advantages in the conclusion of public contracts” while passing by “the participation in the waste of public funds “,” Incitement of an official to abuse his office “as well as” the falsification of documents. Haddad is also being sued with the brother of former president Saïd Bouteflika, in the third room of the financial and economic pole, on the question of the hidden financing of the electoral campaign, money laundering and corruption.
