The spearhead scored in the 84th minute and became the winner of the home match against Borussia Dortmund.
After a time with few chances, it is the guests who come out better from the locker room. Marco Reus sent a nice cross into the box, where Jude Bellingham was lurking. The youngster slid forward and put Dortmund ahead after 57 minutes.
Ten minutes before the end, the hosts equalized when John Stones exploited from 16-17 meters and glued the ball into the roof of the net. Four minutes later, Haaland rose into the air and scored the 2-1 goal with a karate kick.
It lasted for the hosts, who overturned the game in four minutes and secured three new points in the Champions League group stage.
Adventurous start
Haaland was bought at Manchester City by Borussia Dortmund this summer for around NOK 600 million. The price is only around 60 percent of Haaland’s purported value and is due to a clause in the contract with the German club.
The 22-year-old got off to a dream start at Manchester City when he made his Premier League debut with a brace at West Ham. Subsequently, he scored two hat-tricks and a total of ten goals in six English league games.
The Norwegian also scored two goals when he made his CL debut last Tuesday at City against Sevilla. In total, the Norwegian has scored 13 goals in nine games for the Azzurri.
First group G
In the second match of Group G, it was 0-0 between Denmark’s FC Copenhagen and Spain’s Sevilla. The Danes were beaten by Borussia Dortmund in Germany when they lost 0-3 in the first match of the group stage.
Manchester City lead the group three points clear of Dortmund. Followed by FCK and Sevilla in the positions behind. City will face Copenhagen in their next two CL group stage matches on 5 and 11 October. Before that, they will face Wolverhampton and arch rival Manchester United in the Premier League.
In the English league, Manchester City are in 2nd place behind leaders Arsenal. “The Gunners” leads the table with 15 points, one more than City in the first six rounds of the league.
