After the former anti-corruption prosecutor Luis Gustavo Moreno was detained in the Modelo prison in Bogotá, on December 31, and announced that he feared an attack against him, the attorney Fernando Carrillo assured that he should be provided with security.

Moreno, in dialogue with El Tiempo, assured that it is not in his plans to attempt against his life, however, he made it clear that he could be the victim of an attack, hence, through a guardianship action, he requested that his confinement be registered in the Center for Higher Studies of the National Police (CESPO) and not in a detention center run by INPEC.
However, the former prosecutor who returned from the United States in the last month of 2020, was confined in the penitentiary to serve a four-year sentence, due to the network of corruption that arose within the Colombian justice system when lawyers and Former magistrates collected bribes from former senators in exchange for not opening investigations against them or ordering arrests.
Moreno, who has become the star witness of the Prosecutor’s Office to unravel the acts of corruption in the Supreme Court of Justice, assured that he is at risk because he does not have guarantees in the detention center where he was sent on December 30. .
The Third Court for the Execution of Penalties ordered Inpec that Moreno be confined in Pavilion 3 with all the security measures, however, Moreno assured that: “I ask the country to open its eyes. Bustos, in Canada; Ricaurte, at his home; Dr. Camilo, at home; Asthon, released; and the witness, at risk of being killed ”.
To whom Moreno refers, are the people who at this moment are prosecuted for the same facts. Former magistrate Leonidas Bustos has left the country since 2019, it is known that he is in Canada with his wife, former magistrate Francisco Ricaurte was prosecuted in recent years, and due to expiration of terms, he was released.
The former president of the Supreme Court, Camilo Tarquino, was charged during 2020 and is facing his trial in freedom. For his part, former Senator Álvaro Ashton, who was one of those who paid in exchange for avoiding a judicial investigation for parapolitics, the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) released him.
