Gurman: Apple will release new MacBook Air and entry-level MacBook Pro in the fall – Computer – News

Just a slightly more extensive overview with the news yesterday’s rumors

Mac
• The Apple Silicon transition will end in the fourth quarter of 2022. The Mac Pro will be the last device to be replaced. The processor of the Mac Pro will not be an extension of the M2. The Mac Pro’s processor will instead be a further extension of the M1 beyond the cores of the M1 Max.

• The currently available M1 MacBook Pro 13 will be replaced in the second half of 2022 by a MacBook Pro 14 with an M2 chip. This one will get a slight price increase compared to the previous generation. At the same time as this release we get the renewed M2 MacBook (Air).

• For the Apple Spring Event, we get the mac mini with M1 Pro and M1 Max (and a new design). iMac Pro is currently still on track for a spring release. However, there seem to be problems with production.

• There will be an additional configuration for the upcoming iMac Pro goes beyond M1 Max. A 12 Core CPU configuration was linked to a piece of code pointing to the iMac.

iPad
• From iPad 10th generation will be released by the end of this year with 5G, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 6, A14 processor, 10.2 inch display and the lightning connector. This will be the last model before a redesign in 2023.

• For the Apple Spring Event, we’re getting a new iPad Air.

• From M2 iPad Pro comes in the fall. There seem to be issues related to wireless charging/MagSafe. All iPad Pro models will have a MiniLED display.

iPhone
• For the Apple Spring Event, we’re getting a new 5G iPhone SE.

• A Touch ID sensor in the display is not coming to a iPhone 14model or other Apple product.

• ProMotion will be exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro models.

Watch
• 3 new Apple Watches (SE 2, Series 8 en Rugged)

AirPods
• From AirPods Pro 2 are scheduled for the fall.
