Gunilla Persson65, was a success in Melodifestivalen on Saturday night, where she made it to the finals after finishing in fourth place with the song “I won’t shake (La la Gunilla)” in Växjö.

After the program there was partying all night, but the joy was short lived.

Shortly after eight o’clock on Sunday morning, there was a knock on Persson’s hotel room door and on the other side stood two people from the Bailiff ready to seize the artist’s assets.

The background to the crackdown is Gunilla Persson’s debt to the Kronofogden of close to SEK 640,000.

They took a pair of Chanel shoes, jewelry, bags, blazers and a dress with them.

– We assess that what is assessed here has a value of approximately SEK 100,000, says Johannes Paulson on the Kronofogden to Aftonbladet.

Gunilla Persson’s lawyer Mark Safaryan says he believes that the Bailiff was looking for a necklace worth 260,000 kroner and that the jewelry that was seized was worth significantly less.

The lawyer: “It was about making some kind of reality show”

Safaryan is also critical of the Kronofogden’s approach, which he experienced as dramatic and unlawful.

– We mean that the Kronofogden’s greeting, it was about making some kind of reality, he says.

Mark Safaryan also suspects that the Kronofogden had contacted a photographer in connection with the crackdown.

– Gunilla’s security officer had observed a photographer in the foyer at 08:00 before I was called to her room. While we had the meeting with the bailiff, articles were written and authorities commented extensively on the incident about the “crackdown” in the media, this is illegal! The bailiff probably wanted to dramatize the incident. It is a conclusion we draw, we can suspect that this is how it was, he says.

Johannes Paulsson is not aware that any photographer was present at the crackdown.

– We have not booked a photographer, we wanted to do this as discreetly as possible, he says.

Mark Safaryan further explains that Gunilla Persson handled the situation calmly, while she found it difficult.

– She found it unpleasant to have them there for too long and asked them to leave after the coffee ran out.

Johannes Paulson also confirms that the meeting took place under sane conditions.

– It was a calm conversation from both sides, it turned out well, says Johannes Paulson, who explains that he is very satisfied with the outcome.

The bailiff: “We are satisfied with the outcome”

When asked why the strike had to take place precisely at the artist hotel after the Melodifestivalen, he replies that it was a carefully considered assessment made in advance.

– We act where we have the greatest opportunity to get a good outcome, says Johannes Paulson.

– We judged that this was the easiest way to do this with the least attention so that there wouldn’t be so much life around the whole thing.

Melodifestivalen’s project manager Anders Wistbacka do not wish to comment further on the incident. In an SMS to Aftonbladet, he writes:

“The artists’ privacy is something we do not want to comment on, but we refer to the artist.”
