Gulf Health Council renews warning of severe depression from cannabis use

The Health Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council has renewed its warning of the harms of cannabis use on the human body, which may lead to severe depression.

The council explained that the effect of cannabis use during the first period includes a sense of slow passage of time, loss of motivation to do important things and indifference, in addition to redness and dryness of the eyes and mouth and brightness of vision.

He pointed out that the continued use of cannabis for months may cause severe social phobia, asthma and bronchitis, as well as changes in the brain. As the active substance of cannabis is deposited in the nervous system, as well as chronic psychological diseases such as severe depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, madness, paranoia, and hallucinations.

He pointed out that most of the time, the addicted person may reach the last stage without going through the first stage.
