/ world today news/ Yesterday, the chief of staff of the Hungarian Prime Minister Gujás Gergey said that the Hungarian government is far from reaching an agreement with the EU on the financial aid for Ukraine in the amount of 50 billion euros. He added that he was not yet sure whether the agreement would be able to be adopted at the union’s emergency meeting.
About 20 billion euros of funds that the EU is supposed to provide to Hungary remain frozen. The Hungarian government has fundamental objections to the rule of law and fundamental rights, Gergey said.
Last December, Hungary voted against the financial aid plan, according to which the EU would provide 50 billion euros to Ukraine, of which 33 billion are loans.
