Guide to booking the best terraces in Madrid | Madrid

The city’s terraces have just opened and some no longer have free tables for several weeks. In this selection you can find the gastronomic ones, the ones requested for their views, the historical ones, the ones that are more difficult to find and the most lively. Also the way to get a place in them.

The terraces of Madrid with the best views

Roof of the Circle (Marquis of Casa Riera, 2). Escorted by the goddess Minerva, the terrace of the Círculo de Bellas Artes was one of the first rooftop to open in Madrid in 2013. From Monday to Friday they have two lunch menus: the Burger, with a hamburger and beer for 12 euros and the menu Mex with tacos, guacamole, tortilla chips and beer for 15 euros. For the rest, you can go at any time, from 12.00 to 00.00, until the capacity is full and you can order one of their cocktails for 13 euros. There is no entry cost but a minimum consumption is mandatory. Starting June 6, they will offer a brunch for 23 euros.

Café del Río (Avenida de Portugal 1, Madrid Río Park). In Madrid Rio, between the Puente del Rey and the Puente de Segovia, is this kiosk with a terrace and a viewpoint on the roof overlooking the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral. They do not accept reservations but the hotel also has a restaurant with a terrace that opens on Friday, May 29 where you can book (for dinner only at the moment) on the web or by calling 915 301 761. It offers gazpacho, cold cuts or octopus at grilled, for an average price of 35 euros. The rooftop hours are from 5:00 to 2:00 on weekdays and from 12:00 to 2:00 on weekends. And for dinners, the restaurant’s terraces are open from 20:00 until the end of the shift.

360º – Hotel Riu Plaza España (Gran Vía, 84). On June 1, one of the most impressive terraces in the city center opens again to the public. With a capacity for 174 people, it costs 10 euros to go up and does not include drinking. The first days start only with a drink menu (from 4 euros) and little by little they will introduce their cuisine of cans and tapas. For now they do not admit reservations and everything will be served at the tables. Open from 11:00 to 01:00.

Florida Retirement (Paseo de Panamá s / n, El Retiro Park). The Florida Retiro hotel complex is located within the park, facing Ibiza street and has just opened two outdoor spaces: the rooftop terrace to enjoy closer historical trees and the food stall kiosks where you can have your dressed burrata with pesto and fresh figs, smoked salad or fried hook squid with citrus mayonnaise. Aarde and Origin (Plaza de la Independencia, 10). The last creature of Sandro Silva and Marta Seco from the successful Paraguas group is this fusion terrace of their two restaurants created in 2019. Rocacho (Father Damián, 38). It is the only restaurant in Madrid where you can enjoy the meat of El Capricho, the beef and beef of the José Gordón project in León. Varanasi (Zurbano, 5) The quintessential Indian haute cuisine restaurant in Madrid had home delivery service and is now opening its terrace. The best classic terraces in Madrid

Santa Barbara Brewery (Plaza de Santa Bárbara, 8). Benito Pérez Galdós already spoke about this brewery with more than two hundred years of history behind him in the National Episodes. Narrow Tavern (Mancebos, 6). Hidden under a palm tree and next to the remains of a medieval wall, is one of the most charming terraces in the Latina neighborhood for a mojito. From 12.00 to 15.00 it is admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. From 18.00 and until the closing at 23.00 it is reserved by WhatsApp at 696 397 319. Average price: 20 euros (it is the minimum consumption established by the economic crisis by covid-19).

Alamillo Restaurant (Cordón, 6 and Plaza del Alamillo, s / n). The yellow color of its facade, tables and chairs indicate that you are in one of the premises of the Taquería del Alamillo.
