How do I get to gamescom 2023?
Flight: Cologne/Bonn Airport is a little outside of the city, but very well connected to the exhibition center and Cologne Central Station. Then drive to Cologne Messe/Deutz for the trade fair and then come out at the south entrance of the trade fair.
Bahn: If you are at the main train station, you can practically get on all S-Bahn trains that go east, there is no track that turns before the bridge over the Rhine and the first station after the Rhine is Cologne Messe/Deutz, where the southern entrance to the exhibition center awaits. Many trains that go to Cologne either go through Cologne Messe/Deutz or have their final stop there, so you don’t have to change trains at the main station. Check your train’s itinerary.
Auto: The most likely question here is whether you really drive to the exhibition center or park somewhere else and then take the train. There are various Park&Ride options, here you can see the large Park&Ride car parks around Cologne:

With many of them you only have to take the S-Bahn to Messe/Deutz and they are all well connected to the main train station.
local transport: The ticket for gamescom 2023 is also a ticket for local transport: if you have a ticket for gamescom, you also have a valid day ticket for the VRS, the Rhein-Sieg transport association. This allows you to use all S-Bahn, U-Bahn and bus services in Cologne and the surrounding area. Don’t let the KVB (Cologne Transport Company) and VRS confuse you. Everything that happens within the KVB is covered by the VRS ticket, which is valid far beyond Cologne. Feel free to search for connections on the KVB website and app, the KVS ticket is valid for everything you find there.
