Like every year, RFI and France 24 award the Marc-Vivien Foé Prize, rewarding the best African player in Ligue 1 season. Named among the 11 potential winners, the Parisian midfielder – Idrissa Gueye – finished in 6th place (37 points). The Senegalese has notably played 31 games with the Paris jersey. The Marc-Vivien Foé 2020 Prize was won by Lille native Victor Osimhen (284 points), who had a great first season in Ligue 1 with the LOSC jersey (13 goals and 4 assists). He succeeds another Lille resident on the prize list (Nicolas Pépé won this award in 2019). Nigerian striker ahead Islam Slimani (95 points / AS Monaco) et Yunis Abdelhamid (89 points / Stade de Reims) in the 2020 ranking (see below).

The Marc-Vivien Foé Prize only concerns Ligue 1 players who defend the colors of an African national team. Seventy-nine people – journalists, consultants, former players, etc. – voted for the 2020 edition. Each juror had to choose three players. The first chosen received 5 bridges, the 2nd 3 points, and the 3rd 1 point.
