Strengthening of the partnership between the World Bank Group and Togo: The President of the Group David Malpass reiterated to the Head of State Faure Gnassingbé the support of his institution
The Head of State, Faure Gnassingbé and the President of the World Bank Group, David Malpass met again in Lomé on Friday evening, after the discussions in Washington a few months ago.

Indeed, during his 48-hour stay in Lomé, as part of an official visit to strengthen the bank’s strategic areas of intervention in the country, the President of the World Bank Group, David Malpass had a face-to-face meeting with the Head of State, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, in Lomé 2.

Opportunity for the two personalities to deepen the discussions started in October 2022 in Washington, relating to Togo’s development priorities and also the challenges of the security situation in West Africa. Discussions also focused on education, agriculture, in particular the emergency response to food insecurity in West Africa, digital development and social protection.
The President of the WB reiterated to the Head of State the Group’s support for Togo, in particular through new commitments intended to strengthen social inclusion and the resilience of populations in a particular global economic context.
