Grenoble: ARaymondlife to stop Canadians’ vaccine vials

In Saint-Egrève, on the outskirts of Grenoble, production has already started in the ARaymondlife plant commissioned in 2015. This involves responding to the order placed by the public health body, Health Canada, several million plastic caps intended to close all the bottles of the vaccines produced against Covid-19. “Canada wanted to secure industrial capacities for the manufacture of the active principle and for the aseptic filling of the drug, as well as all the logistics of vaccination, from syringes, to vials and their closure systems”, explains Nicolas Thivant, president of ARaymondlife.

A plastics manufacturer, ARaymondLife is innovative in terms of thermoplastic injection and bi-injection molding, and has been able to develop its own range of pharmaceutical packaging items. Its device, chosen by Canada, replaces the aluminum cap, and makes it possible to pre-assemble the “stopper” in the upstream cap and to simplify the production processes which are done in a single step, in the insulator. Validated for use at -80 ° C, the cap eliminates the aluminum crimping.

Half of the activity

“Our RayDyLyo system is even a breakthrough for the biotechnology industry and has already been adopted by the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies”, explains Pascal Sircoulomb, director of business development. The Canadian contract will represent more than half of the company’s activity in 2021 and is part of a global vaccine market of more than 40 billion vials. It will allow the company, which employs 50 people, to hire around 20 people.

Still modest, within an automotive group which achieved a turnover of 1.2 billion euros in 2019, ARaymondLife is doubling its activity each year. Established at 8 million euros in 2020, the turnover should be between 16 million and 20 million euros with nearly 70 employees in 2021, which will be more than 200 in the next three years, because “The company is recruiting”, announces its president.
