Gregoria Mariska Tunjung qualified for the 2022 Australian Open final after winning 18-21, 21-16, 21-14 over Han Yue from China at the Quay Centre, on Saturday (11/19).
Two mistakes made by Gregory. After her shot went too wide, now it was Gloria’s clean play that failed to increase the score for Han Yue, who narrowed the score to 6-7.
Gregria was very tough in the drop shot game in this first game. Gloria’s hard hit on the net gave Han Yue an 11-9 lead in the first halftime of play.
Gregoria Mariska’s point seemed to have stopped at 9. After the break, Han Yue increased the lead to 15-9. Being far behind hasn’t deterred Gregoria.
Lob games and drop shot combinations were played by Greoria in this first game. Let’s not forget that Gregoria has also made a variant with crossed mesh. Gregoria finally managed to come back up to 18-19.
Gregoria’s strike on goal made Han Yue win 21-18 in the first game.
Gregoria Mariska went up in the second game. After drawing 2-2, Gregoria immediately jumped up to six consecutive points to take an 8-2 lead. In the second halftime of play Gregoria won 11-3.
Han Yue got into a fight after the break, but Gregoria kept control of the match. Three more consecutive points put Gregoria ahead 16-7.
Han Yue made the score 15-19 after earning four straight points. However, Gregoria managed to close out game two with a 21-16 win.
In the third game it was Han Yue’s turn to step up the game. Han Yue led 6-1 after getting four points in a row.
After the score was tied at 7-7, Gregoria took the lead to make it 8-7. Han Yue managed to level the score at 8-8, but Gregoria dominated the game again afterward.
Gregoria again excelled at halftime with a score of 11-8. Adding two straight points made Gregoria win 13-8 over Han Yue.
Gregoria just touched Han Yue after the break. Gregoria scored point after point to get away from the pursuit of Han Yue with an 18-9 lead.
Gregoria Mariska qualified for the 2022 Australian Open finals after winning 21-14 over Han Yue. In the final match Gregoria will fight An Se Young who defeated Pornpawee Chochuwong.
