Green Initiatives: Young Farmers in Hérault are sensitive to nature

The profession of farmer, whatever the product worked, can seem aging. This is what the Young Farmers of Hérault are seeking to change by helping young people to take over farms and training for the High Environmental Quality label. Follow the round table on food for tomorrow and student initiatives this Wednesday, December 9, from 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m., as part of the Green Initiative Days.

The Hérault department is rich in diversified agriculture. Its geographical, climatic or topographical characteristics make it possible to find a wide range of productions. It’s not just the vines here! Although it is very present in the territory, the Hérault also welcomes market gardeners, arborists, grain farmers, sheep, goat, cattle, horse and pig breeders, beekeepers, and shellfish farmers.

Young people to take back the lands of Hérault

The Young Farmers of the Hérault help in the creation or the resumption of exploitation by emphasizing the respect for nature with the HQE, High Environmental Quality.
We met their vice-president, Annabelle Vidal, market gardener in the Hauts-Cantons and Jules Lavergne, a young winegrower and cereal grower recently installed in Lansargues near Mauguio.
