See when the new regulations come into force
Greece abolishes the requirement for mandatory 7-day quarantine for citizens of EU member states and the Schengen area, including Bulgaria. The new regulations are in force today and also apply to citizens of Great Britain, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Israel.
Greece is considering opening restaurants
The abolition of the 7-day quarantine for travelers from these countries will be possible only if the citizens present on arrival in Greece a document for a negative result from a PCR test made not earlier than 72 hours before entering the country, or a vaccination certificate. for coronavirus COVID-19, proving that the vaccination was given at least 14 days before. The certificate must be in English, issued by a public authority and contain information on the type and number of doses of the vaccine.
The Bulgarian foreign missions in Greece point out that upon entering the country, the Greek authorities can randomly perform PCR or rapid testing of traveling citizens.
How is Greece trying to get tourists back?
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds that when traveling to Greece, every citizen should have generated a QR code after filling in the Passenger Locator Form (PLF)HERE). The requirement also applies to drivers of heavy goods vehicles who are exempted from the obligation to present a negative PCR test result. Passenger service companies are required to check that each passenger has a QR before boarding.
Crossing the Kulata-Promahon border checkpoint is allowed in the time interval from 07:00 to 23:00, in compliance with all requirements for entry into the country. From today, in this time interval, citizens can cross the border with Greece through the Makaza-Nimfea border checkpoint, which until now was only open to heavy vehicles.
