Mitchel Bakker has made his first minutes in the main force of Paris Saint-Germain. The left-back trained at Ajax was allowed to come in on Wednesday-evening during the cup match with third divisionist Pau FC.
Bakker sealed his deal with PSG in January 2019 and made a definitive appearance last summer. Since then, it has been waiting for a chance in the first team: only during the Coupe de la Ligue duel with Le Mans FC on December 18 was he allowed to take a seat on the bench. On Wednesday evening, however, the big moment arrived, at the foot of the Pyrenees: Bakker was able to replace Colin Dagba in the final phase.
At that time PSG – without Neymar and with Ángel Di María and Kylian Mbappé on the bench – had already made the difference against the number four of the Championnat National: Leandro Paredes took care of the 0-1 and Pablo Sarabia made it shortly after rest for 0-2. PSG retained this lead even after the entrance of Bakker and is now in the quarter final of the Coupe de France.
His official debut may be the prelude to even more beautiful for the defender born in Purmerend. His contract in Paris continues until 2023.
