There have been leaks and rumors about Grand Theft Auto VI time and time again in recent months, but Rockstar Games has not yet officially commented on the continuation of the successful series. Accordingly, gaming fans continue to cling to every leak that circulates on the Internet. Most of the latest speculations are less likely to please.
If you believe a new leak at Christmas, we have to wait a little longer until GTA 6 will actually be in the shops. The information comes from the Twitter user PSErebuswho is a well-known leaker and insider in the gaming industry. In the past, he has often hit the mark with his predictions, but he does not name a source in this case, so you should really classify the information as it is: a rumor.
Loud PSErebus, who recently also made predictions about the PS5 and the new PlayStation VR 2, Grand Theft Auto VI should not be released in 2020; earlier speculations that it will be a launch title for the PS5, he rejects. Instead, Rockstar Games is only targeting a release in autumn 2021. The waiting time would therefore be just under two years.

The insider’s forecast – from whatever source it may come from – could be realistic. At that point it would be three years since the publication of Red Dead Redemption 2 passed and such a time window for the development between two absolute blockbusters and important titles of the studio does not appear unrealistic. Rockstar could release other titles in the meantime, but there are usually a few more years between the studio’s major game releases.
