Granada is reunited with the victory against a poor Alavés

Granada regained victory after five consecutive defeats by beating Alavés 2-0 this Sunday, which missed the possibility of avoiding relegation at the Nuevo Los Cármenes.

In a first half of red and white dominance against a harmless Alavés, the Albanian Myrto Uzuni scored in a penalty by Andoni Gorosabel and the Argentine Lucas Boyé, while in the second half the visitor’s dominance did not translate into goals or clear chances

Granada came out dominating the game against a too contemplative Alavés and scored 1-0 in the 9th minute when Uzuni converted a penalty that Antonio Sivera almost saved.

The maximum penalty came from a clear handball in the area by Gorosabel to deflect a shot from Uruguayan Facundo Pellistri after Argentine Lucas Boyé had sent his shot to the post.

Alavés gradually took control of the match from possession of the ball, although they only worried the Argentine Augusto Batalla with a poorly placed long shot from Rubén Duarte.

However, it was an inconstant and unoverwhelming dominance, so much so that Granada scored 2-0 in the 38th minute with a header from Lucas Boyé after a measured delivery from Sergio Ruiz.

Lucas Boyé himself scored a new goal in added time of the first half against an unrecognizable Alavés and far from offering a version close to what he has shown for most of the season.

Alavés, with new wingers when the Algerian Abde Rebbach entered and Álex Sola replaced Luis Rioja and Carlos Vicente, came out bossy in the second half, with a shot from the Argentine Joaquín Panichelli that made Batalla work.

Granada lived calmly because Alavés did not create danger, although Batalla had to use his reflexes against Sola in an isolated visiting approach.

Alavés tried to overturn the red-and-white goal in the final quarter of an hour and reached the area around the area more easily than before, but without any more chances with which to get closer on the scoreboard.
