Graffiti artist Banksy unveils new work in the Ukrainian city of Borodyanka | War in Ukraine

Mysterious artist Banksy appears to have unveiled a number of artworks in Ukraine. He posted on Instagram on Friday evening an image of a new painting on a wall in Borodyanka, a town northwest of Kiev.

It’s about a female athlete balancing on the ruins of a bombed-out house.

According to Sky News next to this work two other drawings were found which also appear to bear Banksy’s signature. One is an image of Russian President Vladimir Putin being knocked out with a judo throw by a little boy. In the other image, two children use a metal barricade as a swing.

Borodyanka is one of the cities hardest hit by shelling since the Russian invasion in February. The city was liberated in April, but continued to suffer for a long time from the effects of the Russian siege.

Shops were closed or out of stock, electricity was constantly out, and road transport was nearly impossible because the infrastructure was in disrepair. Residents depended on humanitarian organizations for food, clothing and other necessary items.
