Graduation Ceremony of Officers from the 14th Promotion of the Gendarmerie Staff Diploma and the 25th Promotion of the Superior Course of the Gendarmerie

The Minister of Security and Civil Protection, Brigadier General Daoud Ould Mohammedine; chaired, on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the Place d’armes of the Caserne Chef d’escadron Balla Koné, the graduation ceremony of the trainee officers of the 14th promotion of the School of Staff of the Gendarmerie and the 25th of the Superior Course of the Gendarmerie. It was in the presence of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Oumar Diarra and several chiefs of staff and directors of services.

For five months, the 14 trainee officers of the 14th promotion of the Gendarmerie staff diploma acquired and mastered the general method of reasoning, the method of drawing up operational orders in terms of peacekeeping security, both nationally and multinationally. In addition to technical and tactical knowledge, staff diploma trainees have also developed the human qualities necessary for a staff officer. This 14th promotion has nine trainee officers from Mali and five trainee officers from the sister countries of Senegal, Togo, Burkina-Faso, Guinea Conakry and Niger.

As for the 25th promotion of the Higher Course of the Gendarmerie, it received, for ten months, a training centered on the general principles of execution of the service, a legal training of operational command, the methods of reaction and the training of director of investigation among others. They are a total of 20 officers composed of 5 African officers from friendly countries including 1 from Burkina Faso, 1 from Niger, 1 from Togo and 2 from Guinea Conakry as well as 15 nationals. The commander of schools and training centers of the gendarmerie, Colonel Moutian Philémon Diarra, first congratulated the 34 officers for the high level they have reached after hardships. He said that the knowledge acquired within the school will enable them to overcome the difficulties they will face in their new responsibilities.

Colonel Diarra therefore urged them to exercise their future responsibilities while always having as a major objective to obtain the confidence of the populations. He finally thanked the partners of the School, the instructors and the hierarchy for the support in the execution of the training programs.

The spokesperson for the trainees, Commander Djibrilla Maïga, took this opportunity to express to the gendarmerie command their satisfaction for this salutary initiative. Before reassuring them of their firm commitment to put into practice the knowledge acquired and to take up professional challenges, thanks to the science and experience that they were kind enough to share with them.

For the Director of the National Gendarmerie, Brigadier General Moussa Toumani Koné, the success of these trainings depends on the commitment and availability of the command of the schools, the civilian and military instructors and also the constant support of the staff of support, including medical staff, food and other amenity staff. Before inviting the trainees to pursue the permanent quest for excellence, through the perpetual questioning of their know-how and being.

The Minister of Security and Civil Protection, Brigadier General Daoud Ould Mohammedine congratulated all the staff involved for the quality of the courses provided. He also invited the recipients to put this knowledge at the service of their people. General Mohammedine asked the foreign trainees to be Mali’s ambassadors to their respective countries.

Finally, the Minister of Security and Civil Protection affirmed that our country is a reference in terms of military training at all levels.

It should be noted that Squadron Leader Michel Poudiougou of Mali was the Major of the 14th promotion of the Gendarmerie Staff Diploma with an average of 16.36 and Lieutenant Brahima Coulibaly of Mali was also the Major of the 25th promotion of the Superior Course of the Gendarmerie with 15.30.
