Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) said that the quota for certain types of fuel (JBT) or subsidized diesel until the end of this year is quite worrying.

The Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tutuka Ariadji, said that the distribution of subsidized diesel fuel this year is expected to exceed the predetermined quota. Therefore, this matter is of concern to the government.

“Solar is the most worrying. Pertalite is still okay, LPG is still okay. Diesel is what I’m worried about,” said Tutuka when met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, quoted on Thursday (14/12/2023).

Tutuka ensured that the government would continue to make efforts to meet the needs of subsidized diesel for the community. However, he did not specify how much additional quota was needed. “Yes, we are not sure (of the quota), we will evaluate it again, right? It’s okay, but we will evaluate it again,” he added.

Previously, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga proposed adjusting the quota for certain types of fuel (JBT) or subsidized diesel in 2023. This is because the distribution of subsidized diesel fuel this year is predicted to exceed the predetermined quota.

President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga Riva Siahaan explained that in order to meet the need for subsidized diesel until the end of this year, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has proposed an additional quota to the Ministry of Finance.

Meanwhile, the JBT Solar quota adjustment for 2023 will increase by 7.8% or 1.3 million KL from the initial JBT Solar quota, namely from 16.8 million KL to 18.1 million KL.

“First, for JBT diesel the quota adjustment is 1.3 million KL from the initial quota of 16.8 million KL in 2023, which is actually down or lower than 2022, to 18.1 million KL, as proposed by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to Ministry of Finance,” he said in the RDP with Commission VII, Tuesday (21/11/2023).

Apart from the subsidized diesel quota, there is also a proposed adjustment for the JBT Kerosene quota which will increase by 0.8% from the JBT Kerosene quota in 2023, namely from 500,000 KL to 504,221 KL.

“Then for kerosine, it increased by 0.8%, so we ask for assistance in the proposed quota adjustment from 500 thousand KL to 504 thousand KL,” he said.

Meanwhile, the JBKP Pertalite quota is confirmed to be still in safe condition. Meanwhile, from the quota set at 32.6 million KL, by the end of the year it is projected that distribution will only reach 30.8 million KL.

Then, for 3 Kg LPG there is a proposal to adjust the quota for 2023 to 8.19 Million MT or an increase of 2.4% or an increase of 0.19 Million MT from the initial quota in 2023. “For 3 Kg LPG it will be 8.19 million MT which “We are proposing that the quota be 8 million KL,” he said.
