The Regional Government retreated from the decision announced this afternoon to exempt construction workers traveling to Porto Santo from fulfilling the 14 days of mandatory quarantine. Thus, the Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection informed this evening, in a note to the media, that “all workers in the construction sector who need to travel to Porto Santo are subject to quarantine compliance, 14 days , with test at the end of it ”. “The beginning of the resumption of its activity can only happen after this procedure is completed and after a negative Covid-19 laboratory test”, adds the same entity.
It should be recalled that the quarantine waiver, which was due to come into effect tomorrow, was announced by the regional secretary for Health, Pedro Ramos, at 6 pm at the balance sheet press conference on the pandemic. The disclosure of this measure did not go well in Porto Santo, with the Mayor of the city, Idalino Vasconcelos, issued a position demanding that the quarantine be maintained for all passengers, without exceptions.
